Light Levels

______________

Climbing Philos prefer bright, but Medium Light levels. Especially the variegated varieties.

They can do well in pretty much any window, and even slightly back from the brighter windows (South & West facing). Just remember that the more green it is, the lower the light it can tolerate, and the more variegated the more solid Medium light they will want.

Watering Strategies

______________

Vining Philos are some the easiest to water. They are very tolerant of both under and over watering.

To keep them the happiest, they prefer consistent watering and to not completely dry out. Water them when they pass the Baking Check (see my Watering care page for more info on this) or a Moisture Meter reading of 3-4.

Pest Strategies

______________

These plants don’t really struggle with any pests in particular.

However, they can definitely catch Scale if they are next to other infested plants.

See my Pest Page for how to take of that Scale if you get any!

Growth & Propagation

______________

These particular Philos have climbing growth, which means they want to grow upwards and will need some support - like a moss pole or stake - to keep them from flopping over. There leaves will also get larger if they are supported.

Because of this growth habit, they are super easy to propagate! Just take so leaf-node cuttings and plop them in soil or water and you’re pretty much set!

Check out my Propagation Page if you have any follow up questions about propagating you Philos!
